Doosan DST has been Tarantula 6x6 Combat Vehicle Export to Indonesia



Seoul (MI) : first wheeled combat vehicle developed by Korea Doosan DST has been exported to Indonesia.

Prototype in early 2012 has undergone a series of assessments, both for operational and test firing and field tests and in May of this year the production has been completed.

Wheeled armored vehicles exported has a weight of 18 tons with crews totaling 3 (driver, gunner, and commander), and can meet the requirements of field in Indonesia. Land speed reaches 100 km / h, while in the water could travel at a speed of 8 km / h. The main weapon in the form of 90mm cannon and 7.62mm machine guns to raid functionality, a combination of these weapons can be used against tanks and operations against militants. 

Doosan official said "armored wheeled vehicles currently needed by developing countries, these products may compete against products similar to that made by Turkey and Russia, and competitive in terms of performance and price, the future export markets to be targeted are from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America, "he said.

PINDAD has supplied more than 200 armored vehicles APS-3 Anoa to Indonesia and is now being pursued for export to Malaysia.
